For the Sport V6, it’s slightly less, at 403kg. ![]() That will get soaked up pretty quickly by four people and their luggage. You also have to consider the gross combination mass (the weight of the car and trailer and everything in each of them).įor the Trend 4x4 four-cylinder the maximum you can carry in the car when towing 2.9 tonnes is 415kg. Assuming you’ll have the industry standard 10 per cent pushing down on the tow ball, then you have to include that 290kg in the payload. With the Everest you’ll be fine, because it’s rated to tow 3500kg.īut you still have to be aware of the payload once you’re towing that much. – Robyn and GlenĪnswer: Wow, lucky you! I’m jealous… Whichever car you look at you want to make sure you’re not banging up against its tow limit. Which one would you recommend? It sounds like they will both do the job, with the V6 doing the job easier, however we were just hoping to get your opinion.Īlso, is there something else we should be considering in this price range? We would need the car by May 2024 at the latest. We are trying to decide between an Everest Trend (4x4) with Touring pack or a Sport (V6). We are two adults with two kids (eight and 10 years). Who knows maybe family, pets, hobbies/interests, moving situations changes and then I'd like to own the more practical choice.Question: We are looking at getting a new Ford Everest to tow a 2.9-tonne (ATM) caravan and hoping to go on a four-month half-lap trip around Australia. ![]() The CX-30 is just to small if you're gonna stick to owning it when being that young. And how you live, if awd even is necessary? (I'd recommend you Compare real world mpg between models and engine sizes)įor 10 years I'd 100% go for the outback. It will go down to how you like the driving feel and how much size you want to have long term. Mazdas in Sweden atleast seem to be cheaper to maintain but not a huge difference. There is tons of space for passengers and rear and from I've seen resale value and quality is good. The subaru and especially the outback is a nice place to be with a always on awd that will help you get where you need to go for a really competitive fuel cost. Mazdas paint while gorgeous is very thin and is gonna leave chip marks easily. Heavily limited but that is something you need to see irl to actually compare and see what you'll need. You have limited space in the rear and cargo (CX-30). Mazdas newer cars are going heavily for the luxury feel while not quite being as refined as the luxury brands it easily wins against its competition. ![]() Atleast do a extra rust protection coat as I've seen some bad CX-5 and Mazda 3s that were pretty new with more rust than other cars around the front suspension.īoth brands make nice cars and I've owned both. Also if you live in a climate where they salt the roads I'd advice to be cautious with Mazda. I usually wait and buy at least a refresh or similar if you want the long term deal. Mazda has a new platform for their CX-30 and it's the launch edition so reliability is hard to pin point as only time can tell. The CX-30 is competing vs the crosstrek (or XV) and the Outback while bigger and more spacious would be closest to the Mazda 6 or CX-5.
